I have have experienced such success using my series of functional communication song and story boards this year!  They provide a familiar routine throughout the year for students who are learning skills such as vocabulary, requesting, choice making, and peer interaction. Each month provides 2 song boards, 3 story boards, and additional communication games/activities allowing for new vocabulary to be introduced within the familiar structure.
