Inspiration

Everyone can use a little inspiration to get them through the day and to make each day more worthwhile.  We all like to hear stories about perseverance, hope, and courage.  I find that my students and their parents are often sources of inspiration for me.  I see them take on their many challenges without fear and it teaches me that I certainly can work towards my own accomplishments.

At work, I use a journal to make comments, create to-do lists, and take notes in meetings. It’s a great organizational tool because all of my thoughts and actions are in one place…no worries about a stack of sticky notes piling up on my desk.  Mine has inspirational words and phrases on the front cover which really do motivate me.

There are quotes from storybooks that warm my heart and make me smile.  Of course we all know and love Pinterest…the ultimate cork board for inspiration.  I also love any commercial produced by Nike, Gatorade, or Dove.  They pump me up and make feel like I can conquer the world.

Derrick Coleman – Trust Your Power

Yesterday my husband told me about a new Duracell commercial.  Now I want the Seahawks to win the Superbowl!!   After you watch it you will see why!  Actually, I want Coleman to win the MVP and score the winning touchdown.  I want him to be the hero of the football game.  I’ve read several articles about him and he inspires me with his attitude, work ethic, and determination.  He motivates me to accomplish something for the pure satisfaction of achieving greatness.  He encourages me to continue teaching students how to find their passion in life.  I just love to hear stories about people who find a way to say “YES” when those around them paint a picture of “no”.

I’m curious to hear about your sources for inspiration…please share in the comments!
